Diablo is part of the former Panama Canal Zone and serves as an escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. This neighborhood is remarkably tranquil and is located relatively close to a 24 hour supermarket, schools, Albrook Mall, Ciudad del Saber and the center of town. Diablo’s abundant nature and access to the canal set it apart from the rest of the city. There is a park along the canal that is perfect for barbeques, sports and watching ships crossing the canal. Tropical vegetation and flora surround charming colonial hangar homes that boast patios and large yards. Some of these homes are single units while others have been made into duplexes. Local residents enjoy the area’s breeze and nature’s sights and sounds. One downside of living in Diablo is that most amenities are not within walking distance. Also, due to the sheer amount of forest and limited street lighting Diablo is darker than other neighborhoods in Panama. On the whole, Diablo is ideal for taking a stroll along the canal, family and leisure activities, jogging, tennis, soccer and picnics. Curiously, locals and tourists tend to overlook the neighborhood’s appeal.
